Kodambakkam chases Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar in Chennai’s Covid-19 race



Chennai: The neighbourhood of Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar continues to be in the lead in Chennai with 395 of Covid -9 patients.
However, it is closely followed by Kodambakkam which recently emerged as a hotspot with as many as 327 cases.
Royapuram, which was the first red zone in the city for over a month since the lockdown is now the third largest hotspot with 321 persons with the infection.
According to data from Greater Chennai Corporation which released an area-wise breakup today, there are as many as 2008 coronavirus positive cases.
Teynampet has 230 persons being tested positive for the virus and Anna Nagar which is seeing a surge in positive cases lately, has 169 cases. Each day, the graph seems to be moving upwards.
Tondiarpet has 149 cases, two days ago it had 118. Similarly, Valsaravakkam, which had 92 cases as on 4 May, now has 146 cases. Ambattur currently has 98 cases, Adyar has 53 and Madhavaram has 27.
Other zones with comparatively lesser numbers are, Thiruvottiyur with 32 positive cases, Perungudi with 15, Shollinganallur and Manali with 13 each and Alandur with 11.
