India's Under-19 team, currently playing ODI series against England, is facing financial problems due to the Supreme Court's decision on reforms in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). According to the report of the English newspaper Indian Express, even the players of the team, even coach Rahul Dravid, have not received the daily allowances from the board. After Ajay Shirke's removal from the post of BCCI Secretary, this situation has come due to the absence of any board officer. Due to the decision of demonetisation, the fixed limit of withdrawal of money in the week has worsened the situation.

Due to this, the players of the junior team are not getting the allowance of Rs 6,800 per day. According to the report, the condition is that the cricketers have to pay for the dinner itself. Some cricketers have become dependent on their parents due to this 'cash crunch'. BCCI members will have to pass a new proposal to appoint a new officer. A BCCI official said, We have decided that as soon as the series ends, we will send the 'DA' directly to the players and support staff account. There are many problems in BCCI too. We do not have officials and we cannot pay anyone. A member of the Indian Under-19 team said that during the match, some sort of one-time meals were arranged by the hosts association while the breakfast was arranged by the hotel. The biggest problem is dinner. We have been accommodated in such a big hotel in Mumbai where the price of sandwich is above 1500 rupees. In such a situation, the players have the option to eat outside after spending a day full of fatigue on the field.
